Please read about fostering on our Foster page and, if interested, complete a Foster Application.

Rescuing With Pride Fostering With Care
Newfoundland Rescue of Florida, a part of the Newfoundland Club of Florida, proudly maintains a Newfoundland Rescue and Adoption service for the purpose of finding good homes for displaced Newfoundland dogs in Florida.
Newfoundlands come into rescue for a variety of reasons. Sometimes families need to give up their Newf, because they do not have adequate time to spend with the dog, or it could be allergies or health problems, financial reasons, or behavioral concerns.Fostering A Rescue
All Newfoundland rescues are brought up to date on core vaccinations, tested for heartworm, and spayed or neutered (if age appropriate) before being placed in a foster or permanent new home. Once these steps are complete, the rescue's fully vetted foster family will provide love and care for the rescue dogs but will also assess temperament and behavior and maintain the health of every rescue dog taken in.
This is undoubtably the most important part because it's the knowledge we gain while the dog is in their foster home that enables us to make the best decisions for the dogs on their forever placement.
Newfoundland Rescue of Florida is committed to providing care for any treatable illness or injury prior to rehoming the dog, so most dogs will stay in foster for two to three months depending on their needs.
First Right of Refusal
Fosters get the "first right of refusal" when the dog is ready for adoption. If you are considering adopting a Newfoundland rescue but want to get to know the breed better, fostering is the way to go.
If you are interested in fostering, please complete the Foster Application below. A coordinator will contact you soon to start the process.

Loose Change Appeal
Ours is a small, all volunteer organization that relies on the generous donations of our members and supporters to be able to afford the expenses associated with our rescue efforts. Please consider making a donation and remember even small amounts really do add up.
